About

JFJ Foundation is dedicated to educating and empowering young people to prevent harm, build resilience within our communities, and create safer futures for ALL.

Through education, campaigning, and community projects, we equip our community with the knowledge and confidence to navigate life’s challenges surrounding knife crime safely.

JFJ HISTORY

Justice For Jermaine was founded in 2020 by Tilisha Goupall, the devoted older sister of Jermaine Goupall.

Their bond was truly unbreakable—until Jermaine’s life was tragically stolen by knife crime in 2017.

In the painful aftermath, Tilisha was left to navigate a grief no sibling should ever endure. But from that deep sorrow came a fierce determination: Jermaine’s life would not be lost in vain.

As she began to heal, Tilisha couldn’t ignore the growing epidemic sweeping through her community—too many young lives were being claimed by the same violence. She knew something had to change. And so, the Justice For Jermaine Foundation was born.

More than a tribute, JFJ is a movement—rooted in love, fuelled by purpose, and committed to protecting the next generation. Through education, campaigning, and real conversations in schools and communities, we’re working to stop the cycle before it starts. Because every young life deserves to grow, to dream, and to live free from fear.

On the ground work!

At JFJ, we believe that real, lasting change doesn’t just come from policy—it begins on the ground, in the heart of our communities.

While government and local councils play an important role, it’s through genuine connection—with the people living the reality—that transformation takes root. By listening, amplifying voices, and walking alongside communities, we build trust and plant the seeds of long-term impact.

Our approach is holistic. We work directly with young people through powerful, face-to-face workshops in schools, youth hubs, and local spaces. But we don’t stop there. We partner with businesses, councils, community leaders, and adults who work with youth—from teachers and youth workers to mentors and parents—because creating real safety means wrapping support around every layer of a young person’s life.

When a whole community stands together—listening, learning, and leading change—cycles are broken, lives are redirected, and hope is restored. That’s how we build safer, stronger communities—from the inside out.
