The Bleed-kit project
Saving Lives. Equipping Communities. Empowering Change.
The BleedKit Project is a powerful and proactive response to the ongoing knife crime crisis affecting young people and communities across London. Led by the JFJ Foundation, this initiative brings emergency bleed control kits (First Aid PAcT's) and lifesaving training directly into the heart of the community starting in Croydon — from schools to youth hubs and local businesses.

What Is a BleedKit?
A BleedKit is a specialist emergency first-aid pack designed to control catastrophic bleeding, often caused by serious injuries such as stab wounds. In such situations, every second counts. These kits contain life-saving tools — including trauma dressings, gauze, chest seals, gloves, and tourniquets — that empower everyday people to respond in those critical first minutes before emergency services arrive.

Why It Matters

Knife violence is not just a news headline — it’s a daily reality for too many young people. The BleedKit Project tackles this crisis before a loss of life can occur by equipping the community with two essential resources:

-
Knowledge — through hands-on, practical training
-
Equipment — through the strategic placement of BleedKits in high-risk areas

This initiative is about more than first aid; it’s about building a culture of safety, awareness, and mutual protection within our communities.
Croydon is currently the only area with these kits in place, but with plans to go pan-London, and communities reaching out from other cities; we aim to have these kits nationwide!
